SOMETHING IN ME BROKE AND I LET IT.
Six weeks ago, I watched the light leave his eyes.
Blood on the concrete. Rain trying to wash it all away.
They told me I survived. But I died in that alley too.
Now I pour whiskey before coffee. Sleep doesn’t come anymore, so I just wait for the damn shadows to tell me where to go next.
Everyone’s waiting for me to heal. I’m waiting for them to stop watching.
Then he showed up. And the worst part isn’t that he’s in my way.
It’s that he makes me forget what I’m becoming. What I’ve become.
But that’s the thing, it doesn't last. I always remember the blood.
So I’ve stopped waiting for answers that aren’t coming and turned this into what it was always meant to be. A hunt. An obsession. One I’m done pretending I don’t need.
I know I’m crossing lines, that I’m unraveling. And whoever I’m hunting, I’m pretty sure they know I’m looking.
I’ve seen what loss does. What it really looks like when it hollows someone out. I’m not gonna let that happen to anyone else. And if justice looks a lot like revenge when I’m done, that’s fine. I can live with that.
SO I STOPPED ASKING MYSELF JUST HOW FAR I’D GO.
THE ANSWER WAS ALWAYS FURTHER.
Part dark romance. Part noir. All obsession.
Memento Sanguis is a dark romance with:
- A morally grey FMC
- An urban noir mood, with a humid, rain -soaked Seattle
- It's slow-burn. Open door, with spice about a 3/5
- And an atmosphere that lingers long after the final page
It's Book One of The Memento Series.
